for the Rights of Tattoo Artists in South Korea
South Korea is one of the only countries with a law that tattooing is illegal.
Since Tattooing is defined as a medical practice, doctors are the only ones who can tattoo legally in South Korea.
A lot of tattooists in Korea are paying fines and going to jail.
Not only that, in March and July 2022, the Constitutional Court of Korea pronounced that the existing precedents should be maintained.
Accordingly, a number of tattooists including the president of the labor union for tattooists, DOY, who applied for a trial to change the law, were sentenced to fines and imprisonment.
We would like to show that the world desires the Korean Judiciary to have a little more commonsense.
